Chairman's Corner: Jobs, Jobs, Jobs
Dec 19, 2014 Chairman's Corner Indiana Republican Party

This week Gov. Mike Pence announced 16 companies will bring over 2,100 new jobs to Indiana over the next few years.

This is welcome news and a solid example of how our state's strong economy, fiscal responsibility and pro-growth policies make it an attractive place to do business.

In fact, Indiana had a record-breaking year for economic development. In 2014, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation received job commitments from 285 companies which anticipate investing a combined $4.38 billion in their Indiana operations and creating more than 25,000 jobs in the coming years. That's more commitments than in any other year.

JobsAnnouncement_PartyLine_gfx"Today's announcement includes some of the nation's fastest growing companies, and they have all either launched in Indiana or are choosing to move here," said Pence on Thursday. "From tech developers to manufacturing powerhouses, the collective energy of these Hoosier businesses will help power our economy into 2015, creating jobs, promoting opportunities and investing in our future."

Pence also highlighted that Indiana's unemployment is dropping, showing some of the largest declines in the nation even while our labor force is growing.

This recent news should give Hoosiers peace of mind to know that our state is positioned - unlike many other states - for success as we head into the New Year.
